There is a colour that does not really exist. Aurora Borealis, AB in crystal terminology, is less a shade than a phenomenon: an iridescent coating that captures light from every angle and returns it in multicoloured fragments — rose, aqua green, pale gold, sky blue, pearly violet. Every movement creates a new picture. This is not a jewel that shines. It is a jewel that lives. And KODY PIERCING has mounted it on the noblest material in contemporary piercing: Grade 23 titanium.
G23 titanium, also known by the standard reference ASTM F136, is the absolute benchmark alloy in the world of high-end piercing. Its composition — 90% titanium, 6% aluminium, 4% vanadium, 0% nickel — makes it the metal recommended by the Association of Professional Piercers for piercings on all skin types. It is 45% lighter than surgical steel, exceptionally resistant to corrosion, and its natural silver surface needs no plating or chemical treatment to keep its shine. The 8mm bar is the most versatile standard length for labret and thin cartilage piercings — not too long to get in the way, not too short to feel restrictive. The 5mm flat disc on the inside ensures discreet, stable hold against the mucous membrane or skin, without pressure or tilting.
The 3mm ferido ball is the true work of art of this piercing. Micro-crystals in Aurora Borealis are meticulously arranged on a domed base, then sealed under a layer of perfectly flat transparent epoxy resin. This finishing technique guarantees a surface that is smooth to the touch, with no rough edges and no risk of the crystals coming loose. The AB effect is achieved through a surface treatment of the crystals that creates light interference — the same physical principle as the wings of a morpho butterfly or the mother-of-pearl of a shell. In natural light, the ball looks white and crystalline. Under artificial lighting, it bursts into iridescent reflections that change with the viewing angle. The 3mm diameter is precise, elegant, never ostentatious.
This labret suits a wide range of body placements: the lower lip for a classic labret, the upper lip for a medusa, the helix to adorn the upper cartilage of the ear, the tragus for a discreet, sophisticated effect, the eyebrow, the rook, the lobe or the conch. Its 1.2mm gauge corresponds to 16G, the most common size for precision piercings. The reliable external thread lets you insert and remove it yourself in a few seconds. The lightness of titanium makes it ideal for cartilage placements, where a heavier jewel would put unwanted pressure on delicate tissue.
KODY PIERCING designed this labret for anyone who refuses to choose between quality of material and visual intensity. G23 titanium meets the strictest requirements of body jewellery. Aurora Borealis meets those of aesthetics: it is not a seasonal colour but a luminous signature that transcends trends. White in the morning against fresh skin, iridescent in the evening under warm lights, the jewel reinvents itself at every hour of the day without ever repeating itself.
Wearing this KODY PIERCING labret means giving your skin a fragment of the northern lights — that light from the ends of the earth that can never quite be captured, and that you contemplate, with every new reflection, with the same silent wonder as the very first time.
